Opened up with a light dynamic stretch, followed by a light dynamic warm-up. Sebastian and I competed in friendly games of around the world “basket”ball. Around the world helps improve body control, eye/hand coordination and accuracy.
Sebastian seen at school for a half hour treatment session. Focus of treatment on improving fine motor skills, graphomotor skills, and executive function. Played "Look Whose Listening" game and auditory memory. He was only able to answer one question consistently. Next he had to repeat back 3 words, 4 words, and then 5 words. He was able to name 3 and then 4 words consistently but not 5 words. Went over his name in cursive again and reminded him to continue to write his name in script throughout week. He attended well throughout treatment session.
Assignment
Continue to work on practicing cursive handwriting and working on actively listening/following directions
Sebastian seen at school for a half-hour treatment session. Focus of treatment on improving executive function, fine motor skills, as well as graphomotor development. Sebastian had adequate participation although seemed a little distracted. During treatment session Sebastian was asked to participate in a following directions activity. He approached this activity in an extremely impulsive manner. He also did not follow the directions correctly for approximately half of the activity. Continued to work on writing his name in cursive. Sebastian has been instructed to write his name in cursive on work that he does throughout the week.
Assignment
Continue to work on practicing cursive handwriting and control anger if triggered.
In today's session Sebastian and I went over stars and why they are different. We learnt that there are different types of stars, and they range in sizes and temperatures. The temperatures determine what color the star is but the size is determined by how much matter it collected when created. Then we went over distances from our star, the Sun, to other stars. This had us look into what a light-year is and how the next closest star would take us 4.2 light-years to reach.
Sebastian learned that to order food, he can simply use the indefinite article 'un' (masculine) or 'une' (feminine) + the item. For example, If he were ordering a cheeseburger, he could say "Un cheeseburger,'and add please at the end. Sebastian enjoyed ordering a specialty sundae on this fun Friday to end his session with me.
With it being his last day of classes I gave him a choice of what he would like to do and he decided to play the 2 games from yesterday.
Game Day-
Spelling – We played “Boggle”, a fast tile game of spelling.
