In this activity, Xavier completed an exercise on volumes of prisms and pyramids. In this session, Xavier also had to extract the correct dimensions given some dimensions that were not needed.
I helped Xavier complete final edits for his monologue project (including MLA in-text citation and reference page.) I can tell that Xavier enjoyed this project. He did a great job and should be proud of the results.
Xavier and I edited his monologue and added in-text citations as well as a reference page. I had never cited a song before, so together we looked up citing a song in MLA format. We will give it one more look next week, and then he will turn it in.
Xavier and I continued to work on his monologue project. Xavier spent a lot of time since last session researching Ye, including looking up lyrics, listening to songs, and watching a documentary on Net Flix.

Xavier has really matured. I am so proud of him and enjoy helping him with his various projects.
I helped Xavier with a project for language arts, writing a "Shakesperean monologue." Encouraged by his teacher to listen to music, Xavier chose to write a monologue inspired by Kanye West's song "Runaway. This project is due in one month and will consume our subsequent few sessions.

I helped Xavier with a history assignment. He had to write a letter to a woman on the Oregon Trail in the 1800s and ask about her experience. Next, he had to write a response back from her point of view. The ideas were all Xavier's; I only helped him with formatting the letter, grammar, and spelling.

This session was before Xavier's two week spring break.
Xavier and I co-read Act 2, Scene 2 of A Midsummer's Night Dream, pausing to interpret the plot and characters. I am pleased with Xavier's reading and growing maturity. Great work!
Xavier and I co-read Act 2, Scene 1 of A Midsummer Night's Dream. I helped Xavier to understand the characters, plot, and figurative language. Xavier is reading and comprehending very well.
I helped Xavier begin an essay on Ray Bradbury's use of figurative language. With my help, he created a rough draft outline. We then re-read through the stories to find examples of figurative language. I was impressed when Xavier had the idea to use the "search" feature to identify instances of "like" or "as" in the text. He is becoming more and more adept at using technology to work around his learning challenges.
