GT and I read Act IV. We read the ACT, stopping to discuss the plot. We then completed the accompanying quote assignment. We explained the meaning and the significance of the selected passages. GT does so well interpreting the lines of Shakespeare. We then began another lesson in his vocabulary book.
Abby and I completed our discussion of the book. We answered all of the short answer essay questions that accompanied the end of the novel. Abby chose an essay topic. She will write an analytical essay comparing and contrasting the two main characters. We started the pre-writing today.
GT and I read the rest of Act III. We answered the quote activity that accompanied the act. GT did a great job. We also discussed a few pages of activities in the vocabulary book.
Abby worked briefly on her assignment left by her Physics teacher. She then finished reading the novel. She really liked it. We briefly discussed possible writing assignments as her final project for the book.

Lesson Outline
Abby and I discussed the chapters of the book that she had read for homework. We used the study guide questions as a springboard for our discussion. We continued reading some of the book. Abby is almost finished with the extensive novel, and she really is enjoying it. We then did a brief review of the PERT reading test. Abby took a practice test on the computer, and she did well. We discussed some reading strategies that she can use when she takes the test.
Abby and I continued our study of the book. We first discussed the several chapters that Abby had read for homework. Then we continued our reading. We stopped to answer the discussion questions. We discussed one of the settings of the book which is Paris. Abby shared that she has been to Paris a few times. The Paris in the book is different than what she remembers. We then discussed time period of the novel which is World War II. Abby will continue to read the novel for homework.
