Abby and I prepared for the PERT test. We did some activities in print. Abby also took a practice test on the computer and did quite well. We then continued with our study of the book. We discussed the chapters Abby had read for homework. We then continued reading and discussing with a few more chapters. Abby will continue to read the novel for homework.

GT and I read the rest of Act II. We discussed the Act. We also completed a quote activity based on Act II. GT does an outstanding job interpreting Shakespeare's lines. We need to work on the significance of the quotes to the plot of the play.

We talked about the Holocaust, and Abby is studying some of that in history. She is really enjoying the novel.Abby will continue reading the book for homework.

JULIUS CAESAR by Shakespeare;Sadlier Vocabulary
Lesson Outline
GT and I worked on a quote activity for Act I. The activity has four major quotes form the Act. GT needed to find the quote, identify the speaker and explain the quote's meaning and significance to the play. GT and I worked on the activity together. He did quite well interpreting the lines. We then finished the Lesson 4 activities in his vocabulary book.

Abby and I continued our study of the novel. Abby and I discussed the pages that she had read on her own. We answered accompanying essay questions and used them as the springboard for our discussion. We then continued reading some of the novel. Abby also took two practice Pert tests. We discussed the questions that she missed. Overall, she did quite well. Abby will read more of the novel for homework.

I presented a brief introduction to JULIUS CAESAR. GT and I then read Act I scenes I and II. We then discussed what we had read. We answered a few discussion questions regarding the section that we had read. GT turned in his vocabulary that he had completed on Friday, and I am assessing it.

Introduction to Shakespeare and Sadlier Vocabulary
Lesson Outline
GT and I finished watching "The Life of Shakespeare " video. We also discussed some of the interesting parts about his Shakespeare's life. We discussed the conspiracy theory associated with the Bard. We talked about iambic pentameter. I showed GT examples of the meter Shakespeare writes. We then completed the vocabulary activities for the first review section of his book. GT did quite well.
