GT and I completed the last activity in lesson three in the vocabulary book. We also previewed the next section which is a review of the first three lessons. We then finished reading the novel. We discussed the ending. We also discussed the essay GT will write as his cumulative project for the novel. I presented GT with several essay topic options. Using his double journal entries, he selected a topic and will begin the writing of his essay.

Abby and I discussed the pages of the book she had read on her own. She read quite a few chapters. We used the accompanying study guide questions as a springboard for our discussion. We talked about reading the book ANGELA'S ASHES and doing a comparative analysis of the two. We are also going to watch the movie of THE GLASS CASTLE, and compare the movie to the book. We completed one lesson in her vocabulary book. Abby completed the final activity well for the lesson.

We then continued our study of the novel.Because GT was in England this past summer, he is able to add a lot of commentary on the setting of the story. GT will read additional chapters for homework, and he will write a double journal entry containing a meaningful quote from the novel.
