Olivia and I finished reading the novel. We discussed the final chapter and answered the accompanying study guide. We discussed themes and symbols prevalent within the work. We discussed author's purpose as we prepared for the final assessment.
We watched the movie. We also filled out a detailed film/novel comparison as we watched the movie. We stopped and discussed the differences and similarities between the two. Because we experienced technical difficulties, we didn't get the film going as soon as we would have liked. Taylor offered to complete watching the movie and completing the comparison for homework.

Taylor had read the essay questions, and she chose her two questions. We made a tentative outline. We then searched and found the best textual evidence to use to support her answers. We talked about the structure of the answers and the requirements of the answers. Taylor began writing her responses. She will finish for homework.

Lesson Outline
Taylor took the 25 question multiple choice portion of the final assessment on the novel. She did quite well. I provided her with the essay part of the assessment. She is to chose the two out of the four questions that she would like to answer. We will discuss an outline and a rubric for the answers that next time that we meet.
