Spencer usually organizes his work space at the end of each day without being asked or prompted. Homophones and words with similar meanings were reviewed and practiced. Spencer did well on word problems that involved multiplying factors of ten.
Tristan completed homework such as, language arts - filling in missing letters, practicing the rule - 'e' makes the vowel sound say it's name and word endings 'ck' and 'k, 'ing' rhyming words; math - focusing on skills such as addition/subtraction, multiplication/division, reviewing the term product, number patterns, and rounding to the nearest tenth. Tristan did wonderfully writing 'ing' rhyming words, using nice handwriting skills. Tristan struggled when writing the answers to math problems.
Today's study hall was spent working on American History. Morgan and the instructor read an article about the Surrender at Appomattox Court House, Virginia. The article included correspondence between General U.S. Grant and General Robert E. Lee. As the article was read Morgan and the instructor discussed concepts or words that needed clarifying. After reading the article Morgan started answering questions about it for her class assignment. She will continue this assignment at her next American History Class.
Spencer confidently classified his vocabulary under the headings provided. He used his vocabulary words to best complete given sentences. Spencer practiced multiplying two- digit by one-digit numbers.
Tristan completed homework such as math - multiplying fractions by a whole number, multiplying the numerator by the whole number and keep the denominator the same - mastered!; language arts - vocabulary - finding the words in the story after being read aloud - mischief, grateful, stun, splendid, selfish, groan, romp, stormy, delighted, and sprinkle. Great work today!

Tristan completed homework such as, language arts - completing a skill sheet- who/what venn diagram and filling in blanks with sight words; math - multiplying fractions using shaded in shapes as reference. Tristan mastered multiplying fractions!
Matthew continued his work on his business class. As we will not have enough scheduled hours to complete all of the work for this class due to it being a 4-day school week, and his leaving school early tomorrow, I advised him that there is approximately 40 minutes of video assigned by the professor this week and that he should schedule his time appropriately. After working on business class items for half of our session, he then worked on English assignments.
