Tristan completed homework such as math - mixed numbers and two-digit by one-digit multiplication; language arts - introducing vocabulary words with the story, "In Tune with the P.S. 101 Chorus", matching the meaning by choosing the word from the box that best matches the picture. Tristan rocked through his homework today!
Matthew is to read Great Expectations for his English class.
Today, while he started to read, I found a digital audio copy of the text that he can listen to on his phone while in the car or on the go if needs be as he has a considerable workload in his classes this week.
I encouraged him to read along while listening to the text. He did so for the remainder of the first chapter of the book.
Tristan completed homework such as, language arts - retelling the story, "Mrs. Hen and Her Six Chicks" by writing in his journal using the words first, next, then, and last; began a 'Groundhog Day" word search; math - 3 problems, 3 digit by 1 digit multiplication. Tristan struggled with this but we completed them step-by-step.
Spencer and I talked about choices and consequences. We discussed good choices lead to good consequences and choices that are not in his best interest lead often lead to negative consequences. Given a word bank, Spencer completed sentences having to do with Groundhog Day. He did well solving problems that required rounding numbers to the nearest ten or hundred.

Lesson Comments
Spencer was working on his language arts. He was calm and being cooperative. My hand was on the desk and all of a sudden he used both of his hands to scratch my hand. When I asked him he would do that, he smiled. Again, I told him that it was inappropriate and would not be tolerated. Later, he talked about going outside when he finished his homework. I told him we would not be going outside because he scratched me. He then refused to do his work. After discussing good and bad choices and positive and negative consequences, Spencer did complete both his language arts and math homework.
Matthew worked on an English assignment for the duration of the class.
We focused on enriching our understanding through outside resources.
Specifically, we discussed the meaning of the word weird possibly being wyrd and tying the the three witches to the concept of fate and fate intervening in mortal lives.
Tristan completed homework such as math - simplest form, dividing the numerator and denominator by common factors. Tristan needs additional practice with this topic. We did not have time to complete language arts homework but we will complete it tomorrow.
