Tristan completed homework such as language arts - completing two school word puzzles, reading aloud words and matching them to the picture and math – completing the fraction review activity and a fraction concepts activity, writing the fraction shown by each figure.
Tristan completed homework such as language arts – reading a story, “Mutt and Pup” and retelling the story in his journal, using the words first, next, then, and last; math – completing three problems on fractions.
Spencer chose to complete his math homework first. He did well solving problems related to a given bar graph. Spencer did well reading a story entitled, 'Rose and Weed'. With leading questions, Spencer summarized the story. Additionally, Spencer wrote (in complete sentences) in his journal what he would teach and why if he was a teacher.
Spencer did well both when creating a graph from given data and when interpreting a graph. He benefited from reminders to read the whole question before answering. Spencer practiced reading long vowel words with the silent e spelling pattern and with the two vowels next to each other spelling pattern.
Spencer benefited from encouragement and prompting to complete his homework. He did well rereading a story and was excited to tell me how the story ended. He was tasked with writing the beginning, middle and end of the story.
