We spoke about the meaning of the sections as we went through them. We particularly highlighted foreshadowing of the dark deeds to come and of the characters' motives and state of mind.
Time management skills were reviewed. Spencer confidently practiced math problems involving dividing by 2, 3, 4, and 5. He practiced identifying words with the suffixes -ful and -ly. Given sentences, he was tasked with identifying the word with the suffix and writing the word's meaning. Additionally, Spencer matched words with pictures and sentences with pictures online.

Spencer needed quite a bit of redirection, prompting and limit setting to complete his homework assignments.
Tristan completed homework such as, math - four division problems, practicing with remainders. Tristan is improving his skills with this topic; language arts - retelling the story "Ted", using first, next, then, and finally. Tristan and I took turns with writing each sentence. Tristan also completed a 'match the meaning' activity, matching pictures with the correct vocabulary word after reviewing the story, "The Skating Lesson".

Yesterday Tristan did great given a 15 minute break at the beginning of class (keeping up with the deal that we made). However, today he struggled staying focused. He was still able to complete his homework with a little push.
Tristan completed homework such as, math - long division worksheet, practicing with remainders and language arts - reading the story, "Ted". We will complete retelling the story tomorrow.

Spencer chose to complete his math homework first. He confidently solved given word problems that involved multiplication and/or division. Spencer wanted to complete his vocabulary homework next. He completed sentences using vocabulary words. Spencer also completed an activity involving multiple-meaning words. After listening to a nonfiction passage, Spencer did well answering questions about what he heard.
Tristan completed 7/8 required math homework problems.
