Spencer was tasked with reading a short book and completing a story elements organizer that included characters, setting, problem and solution. He did well reading another passage that focused on specific letter patterns. Spencer practiced reading words that end with nk or ng. Additionally, Spencer solved single-digit multiplication problems that included 3 and 4 numbers.

Tristan completed homework such as, math - completing three problems, multiplying by 0-12; language arts -completing a cut & paste activity with 'ch' and 'sh' words and illustrating pictures that start with 'ch' and 'sh'; reading CVC words and a pre-writing activity, tracing lines without stopping.
Spencer got right to work. Vowel dipthongs were reviewed. Spencer read, 'The Deer'. Focus was on vowel dipthongs and reading with fluency. He practiced multiplying single digit numbers by by 6, 7, 8, 9. Spencer did well solving word problems that required multiplication. In addition, he wrote in his journal about a puppy with special powers. We continue to work on capitalization and end punctuation.

Spencer seemed to be okay with the rule of staying in his room until 2:30.
Tristan completed homework such as, math - multiplying with word problems. Tristan did excellently! He completed a couple of problems - two-digit by one-digit multiplication in his head. How amazing! Tristan also completed a cut & paste activity with word families such as -ug, -ut, and -un.

Tristan completed homework such as, math - addition problems with Ms. Anna; language arts -reading aloud "Dash on the Path" and retelling the story. Tristan dictated as I wrote. Tristan wrote one sentence; science - day 5 of 'how do bacteria create cavities?', reviewing vocabulary learned this week.

Tristan did wonderfully finishing his homework. However, he rushes to finish and then goes outside. He tries to get everyone to go outside. Today, Christopher and Mercer joined Spencer and Tristan outside and they were all ganging up on Christopher.
I discussed with Spencer the benefits of crossing out words or phrases utilized when working from a word bank. When completing a crossword puzzle using his vocabulary words, he was encouraged and prompted to cross out words he used, thereby narrowing his choices each successive time. Spencer used skip counting to help him solve multiplication of single-digits by eight and nine.
