Cabo completed his math homework reading assignment. He reviewed the pages multiple times. He was given SAT practice problems from the reading section.
Tristan completed homework such as math - completing four, three-digit by one-digit multiplication; science - day 1 of 'how do bacteria create cavities?', learning the vocabulary word plaque and facts about bacteria and word work - cutting and pasting with word families such as 'et, 'eg', and 'en'.

Tristan had difficulty completing his homework and had an attitude. Tristan gets upset when Spencer finishes first. I think that having the two separated would be beneficial. I hope the homework sessions improve.
Spencer and I talked about how well he is getting his homework done and the reward of getting right to work and completing his assignments. We went over a picture sequence of making Rice Krispie treats. Spencer was tasked with using time order words next to each picture step of the recipe. He enjoyed writing about 'Spencer Holiday' in his journal in response to the prompt, 'If you could create a holiday, what would it be?'. Spencer worked hard on multiplying by 4.

Before class started, something happened between Spencer and Tristan. Spencer texted his mother to tell her that Tristan had scratched him. I tried to get him to tell his mom when she picked them up, but he insisted on texting her right away.
Spencer asked if he could make Rice Krispie treats after he completed his homework. He practiced multiplying by two and three. His journal writing prompt was, 'Imagine you could become invisible whenever you wanted to. What are some things you would do?'. Spencer had fun coming up with ideas to write. We went over the recipe directions in words and pictures and discussed the importance of following directions. He enjoyed the process and asked to take home the treats to share with his family.

I tried to have a discussion with Spencer about how his words and actions affect others. I asked him how he would feel if someone closed the door as he was walking into a room. He was not interested in the discussion and laughed it off. I talked to him about being polite, respectful and kind.
Tristan received no homework today! During our session, Tristan and I completed a science experiment with balloons (being that it was his birthday). To start, we gathered our materials such as a bottle, balloons, vinegar, and baking soda. Tristan observed a balloon being inflated by vinegar and baking soda creating a reaction. Tristan stated, "this is sick!" I am glad Tristan enjoyed the experiment. We ended our session with making water balloons and dropping them from high elevations. I hope Tristan has a wonderful birthday weekend.
