Political Alliances NATO, Voting districts and Gerrymandering: Political alliances definition as a group of nations who have a cooperative agreement as allies for military purposes, self-protection, and resistance to other countries' mistreatment. Voting districts and electoral votes : 270 Electoral votes required to win US Presidential Elections, Number of House of Rep. members plus US Senators in any State determines the number of Electoral votes for that State. Gerrymandering as a practice of drawing or re-drawing voting districts to favor the election of candidates who appeal to the ethnic, political, and Demographic make up of the particular voting district.

During today's lesson on Political Alliances, electoral votes, and voting districts Kaitlin was very interested in how the US is divided into voting districts and how that affects congress elections and national elections. She is now more aware of the "political geography" make up of the US which influences how candidates from the major parties are able to be elected.
Political Geography Ch. 12 Unit 4: Self-Determination and Autonomy/separatism, Centrifugal forces such as Military, Education, and Religion/church. Political Alliances such as Nato for military assistance etc.

During today's remote Teams session with Kaitlin, she was attentive and was able to follow the lesson plan on Self-determination/autonomy of nations despite the lack of video transmission. We are currently covering Political geography topics in Chapt. 12 Unit 4 this week while she is away from TBS.

During today's session on Political Geography, Kaitlin was very attentive to numerous key terms which relate to sovereign countries/states and autonomous regions. She is taking complete and accurate notes which should prepare her well for the AP Human G Exam.

During today's lesson on Political Geography (beginning Chapter 12 and AP Unit 4),
Kaitlin was well focused and attentive to the various concepts, key terms, and content from videos watched.
Completion of Chapter 8 Economic Geography: Remaining key concepts and terms for Ch. 8 Economic Geo.: Market gardening, Tertiary activities, genetic diversity, von Thumen model etc. Discussion of how genetically modified/engineered agricultural crops/products have been developed for varying climates, soil/growing conditions, and animal feedstock vs. human consumption.
