S: Noah was seen at the Batt School for treatment. Noah was eager to work with SLP for majority of the session. Some distractibility noted. O: Noah was first asked to sort items provided into different category spaces of where one would find them (e.g. household items; where in the house they would be found). He completed the activity with 70% accuracy. He was then asked to blend 3 letter words when given the 3 sounds verbally. He completed the task correctly in 4 out of 5 opportunities. Noah was then asked to identify the superlative (e.g. big, bigger, biggest) in a field of 3 visual answer choices. He completed the activity with 70% accuracy. After, Noah was probed with 3 sight words (“a,” “to,” “the”). Lastly, Noah was asked to find the letters “A” and “B” on sheets with mixed letters and a model at the top. He completed the activity with verbal prompts to refer to the model with 70% and 40% accuracy respectively. A: Noah displays progress across goals. P: Continue POC.

Luke had a challenging session today. He had difficulties focusing on his work and was distracted by an interaction with a peer from earlier in the week. We discussed the zones and how he felt from his peer interaction but he had difficulties being able to move on during our session.
Chris continues to inquire about the topics that have been a focal point of recent sessions. Chris initiated the session today with a multitude of specific questions, and presented with a rather "concerned" affect. This afforded the opportunity to once again segue into key aspects of perspective taking, presupposition, mindfulness, "filtering," and the nuances of intentionality.
Predicting outcomes, and identifying correlations between actions and consequences were also explored in greater detail this session. Speaker -listener reciprocity was characterized by increased instances of speaker- speaker overlap. Self awareness was noted, allowing for repair of the overlap approximately 60 % of the time today. Attentional shifting and topic shifting were noted with increased frequency today, and were supported with familiar cue supports and strategies. Additional supports, including familiar techniques adapted from the "Social Thinking" literature as well as utilization of the "zones of regulation" were provided and were extremely facilitative today.
Chris was eager to continue to expand upon the topics of conversation that have been at the forefront of his mind in recent weeks. Navigating the dynamics of peer relationships utilizing key strategies for successful communication continues to be the focus each session. Expanded discussion into the area of perspective taking, presupposition, problem solving, positive mindset, the value of mindfulness and the importance of "filters" was highlighted once again today. Theory of mind concepts are the foundation for navigating social situations successfully. Chris continues to be so motivated, and demonstrates increased self awareness regarding attentional shifting within
sessions. Strong session today as Chris demonstrated strong inferencing skills across 12 hypothetical scenarios.
