Richard was greeted in the cafeteria while he was playing a Valentine's Day themed BINGO with his friends. We transitioned to his room after the last game. We targeted some social skills with peers and teachers. When getting back to his room, he was given scenarios how to respond to particular situations. He did quite well with this. WE will continue to work on applying these skills in situations. Also, we covered a Valentine's Day theme figurative language/idioms activity which was more difficult for Richard today. He did enjoy this task. Following that, we targeted irregular past tense and verbs using final -s to reduce the omission at the end of the word. We did /th/ boom cards on a new app that is more interactive for him. He required some cues however was frequently self correcting as he was telling stories with words with /th/ in them (especially in the initial positions of words). We did the calendar to cover the week recall of events. Richard's thoughts and expressive language appeared more organized today. We finished the session with an activity that targets processing with a game called 5 Second Rule. I will continue to target speech and advanced language goals.

Started with sports talk about the playoff games. Lots of good /r/ practice with words like referee, running back, underdog, resilience, quarterback, running game, etc. Spencer was in a great mood and loved playing sportscaster. He really pays attention to his pace of speech, intonation, and pronunciation when he's playing the ESPN reporter.

We started on the basketball court with a great start. I suggested some ways to change it up so we could be more productive with our speech practice. Tristan was open to it and we talked about "flexible thinking" in life is so important. He was curious and had lots of questions about that. It was a great session to see his mind working about how he could be more flexible and the benefits of that in school, friendship and life.

Chris was in a good mood during recess and then got a little bothered by some of his peers at lunch. We took a walk outside and regrouped with some strategies for managing the situation. He said he was in the "yellow" zone but he knew he could just pause. He chose to rejoin the lunch group and only focus on what was in his control. He was proud of his effort and said "that wasn't too bad. I know how to be awesome."

Tristan wanted to do our usual basketball shoot around. He likes things in a certain order so we start on the basketball court and then target our sound list. He talked about wanting to join the other recess group so we problem solved that situation a bit. He felt empowered with some strategies to show his good sportsmanship and kind friendship skills.
