I began with a sound deck review with visual and auditory drills. Graphemes included ee, g, it, oo, ph, ea, ur, ai, or, er, ay, oa, ow. Regular spelling dictation included" fee, girl, good, book, phone, read. Irregular spelling dictation included: there, where, very, give, how. I dictated a sentence for Kip to write and edit (The girl will read a good book.) To practice reading fluency and comprehension, we co-read the novel I Survived Pearl Harbor.

Lesson Outline
Kip and I began our session with Kip completing fifteen minutes of iReady. Kip then completed two grammar activities focusing on negatives. Kip identified the negative used in the sentence and chose the correct negative to use in the given sentences. He also proofread a letter for mistakes and wrote sentences using negatives. Kip then completed a religion 'mini-task' activity, describing the 'Forgiving Father' and what he learned from the reading. We then reviewed for a religion test tomorrow on lesson 9. We ended our session with reading chapter one in "Freckle Juice" by Judy Blume.

Kip did wonderful reading one chapter from "Freckle Juice" by Judy Blume today. He struggles with pausing after a sentence and beginning a new sentence. I will miss teaching Kip.
Math – Kelcy took a quiz on one-step word problems. Then he completed I-Ready. Next he began to work on Lesson 18 Session 1 Solving two-step word problems.
Science – Kelcy completed the pages on “How does something become a fossil?” from his science workbook and I sent them to his school.
After a sound deck review with visual, auditory, and blending drills, Kip and I selected a new book to read. He chose "I Survived Pearl Harbor." After I explained a little about World War II, we began the book. Kip read well and had a lot of context questions, which is important for reading comprehension.
Kip shared his project with me on communities. He explained why he would live in the suburban community and described how he created his project. Kip completed a review on communities on IXL.
Math – Kelcy completed fluency and skills practice for a test on Wednesday. He practiced solving one-step word problems on area. Then he practiced solving problems about arrays in which he had to decide whether to use multiplication or division. Next he practiced solving problems about equal groups in which he had to decide whether to use multiplication and division. These papers have been turned in for his teacher at St. Catherine’s to give him credit.
Creating a soundtrack is just about the most cinematic thing you can do. Choose sound for a footage clip to enhance the audience experience and set the tone.

Kip then completed a vocabulary activity, completing the sentence with the correct vocabulary word. This week, we will be begin reading the book, "Freckle Juice" by Judy Blume. Before reading, Kip made predictions on what he thought the book would be about. We also completed an author search on Judy Blume. We ended our session with a religion video, introducing Saint Padre Pio.
