Math – Kelcy completed iReady.
Science – Kelcy completed lessons on fossils found in quarries. Then he learned how to determine how fast a dinosaur could run and if he could outrun him. Next he learned how scientists determined that dinosaurs were covered with scales and what they ate.
Kip finished his opinion writing on why soccer is the best sport. Kip worked on his fourth paragraph on the types of listening skills learned in soccer. He developed an organized paragraph with his ideas. Kip developed his last paragraph that wrapped up all this ideas with a closing sentence.
Kip worked on his opinion writing on why soccer is the best sport. Kip continued developing his third paragraph. Kip stated that soccer develops skills when played. Kip added details on the type of skills learned in soccer. He wrote these ideas in an organized paragraph.
Kip and I began our session with Kip completing fifteen minutes of iReady. Kip then completed a 'Peter Rabbit' grammar activity, filling in nouns, verbs, and adjectives to create a funny story. We then read aloud our religion reading on Easter, reading the 'Gathering Prayer' and the 'Triduum prayer'. We ended our session with watching a video, "Easter Around the World". We will rewatch this video tomorrow to assist Kip with a writing prompt that goes along with it.
Kip and I began with a review of irregular (sight) words. We played a game of sight-word Jenga to reinforce. We co-read the novel Ranger. We revisited our graphic organizer to keep the myriad of characters straight. Great work, Kip.
Math – Kelcy took the math test on Lesson 16 and did very well.
Science – Kelcy completed the following End of Mystery Assessments: Where can you find Whales in the desert? How do we know what dinosaurs looked like? Can you outrun a dinosaur?
Kip read his textbook assignment about different types of communities. He finished his community drawings adding details to each drawing to make it evident which community he drew. Kip watched a YouTube video on communities to review.
Today we used chess as an example of how to think strategically and build concepts for future computer business and computer applications.

Kip was very cooperative and a pleasure to teach. He tends to act impulsively, so we worked on slowing down with strategic thinking using chess as a tool to build this skill.
Great session today... we used the timer while playing chess. Kelsey said it added a different element to the game. We ended looking at defensive approaches.
