We jogged around the playground, completed yoga stretches and strength training exercises. We also practiced self-defense drills and practiced kicks and punches on the bag.
Continued working on the 4 Panel Project. Used our first canvas to sketch the first soccer scene. Demonstrate three styles of transferring a source/reference image onto a canvas. Free sketch, tracing paper, and grid method.

Kip did great with the first drawing. Going to have him do the next transfer with transfer paper and see how it goes. Also will do the second shading exercise with him next class.
Math and Science – Kelcy played a board game to help him learn the Cartesian coordinate system.
Each board in the physical game has two grids: the lower (horizontal) section for the player's ships and the upper part (vertical during play) for recording the player's guesses. The ships have coordinates defined in positions of the perpendicular projections of the point onto two axes. Each coordinate is an ordered pair. He is already well-versed at finding the ordered pairs for each coordinate in the game. Then Kelcy learned the mechanics of physics and the study of motion behind throwing a football in a perfect spiral. He learned that it travels in a curved or parabolic path which is influenced by the force of gravity. The more spiral on the football the less drag. He quickly learned to throw a perfect spiral.
Kip and I began our session with completing his writing prompt on Easter traditions around the world. Kip did an excellent job referring to his planning sheet which had a list of his traditions and traditions around the world. I then read aloud a religion reading on Easter, pages 258-261, the 'Gathering Prayer' and focusing on the question, 'how is the risen Jesus present in his church?' We then watched a video, 'The Story of Easter - The Beginner's Bible'. We ended our session with an Easter activity, a science experiment observing a chemical reaction with Easter eggs, baking soda, vinegar, glitter, and food coloring.
Kip and I reviewed the six syllable types and played a board game to reinforce the concept. We revisited the list of sight words; Kip is making nice progress in that area. We mapped out the many characters of the novel, Ranger, on the dry erase board and then co-read two chapters.
Kip and I began our session with Kip completing fifteen minutes of iReady. We then watched a video, "Easter Traditions Around the World". After watching the video, Kip made a list of Easter traditions he and his family have. Together, we made a list of Easter traditions around the world. Kip began working on his writing piece on Easter traditions, completing one paragraph. We will complete his opinion piece tomorrow.
