Madagascar mini-lesson
Lesson Outline
I asked Zeta to select a place in the world to learn more about today that we discussed during our biomes of the world activity. She asked to learn more about Madagascar. She was familiar with the fact that lemurs are from this island nation off the coast of Africa, but was not aware of how unique it is. We watched a short documentary about the lemurs: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UjSiq53nJBo
and then learned about the carnivorous fossa (cat like predator), and the chameleons of madagascar.

Lesson Outline
Zeta and I reviewed last night's homework on solving equations using inverse operations, simplifying expressions with the order of operations, and evaluating expressions using substitutions. Then, we discussed functions and how there can be only one y-value for each x-value and that sets of ordered pairs are relations. Zeta looked at tables and graphs, determining if they were or were not a function. Together, we answered problem solving scenarios related to our recent lessons.
