In Spanish share a favorite read-aloud with children and follow up with a discussion about the characters in the story. Can children name all the characters in the story you just read? What are some of their favorite characters in other stories?

Indigo listened to a riddle that described a word that begins with L. She chose the correct picture and then followed the directions for how to identify the picture. Indigo easily drew a line from Ll to all the pictures that began with the L sound. We reviewed sight words the, a, I. Indigo wrote the words. She then completed a color by sight word page.

Indigo worked hard to identify the picture with a subtle difference from the others. She was tasked with tracing the dotted lines from the Ll to pictures that began with the Ll sound. Indigo did well locating all the upper and lower case L(s) on the page. She traced and wrote L and l. We reviewed the sight words I, a and the and then completed an activity for each word to reinforce the learning. Indigo enjoyed following two-step directions. She also did well following directions that required her to differentiate her left from her right.
