Matthew and I reviewed the Preterite and Imperfect in Spanish. We discussed the difference between the two. We conjugated regular verbs in both conjugations. We identified common irregulars in both conjugations.
During this viewing, we took time to pause the video after statements from the video that Bella should be able to understand in Spanish.
These included mostly single simple sentences that occurred between characters in familiar settings.
Bella exhibited keen insight into one of the complex situations that occurs in the movie dealing with hidden motives and serious consequences for the characters.
Bella and I started the class with a breif conversation in Spanish. We reviewed parts of the preterite for her to be able to speak in Spanish. We talked about the conditional and its presence in the sentence, "Podria ser."
Bella then wrote some of her present paragraph and was able to watch a good chunk of the video today. She is a little behind schedule in her viewings.
We paused to analyze sentences in the video such as, "No sabria decirle Yo."
Matthew and I discussed the movie that he has been watching. We discussed what a college level writing prompt for this video may look like. He responded in English to that prompt.
He was then given a high-school level prompt to respond to in Spanish. Responding to this prompt was facilitated by the ground work that we did in dicussing the college level prompt.
