Matthew spent the session writing in Spanish about the history of Argentina's economy.
I helped him when he asked questions. His requests included topics such as: a) how to structure the information (we discussed circumlocution in writing), b) whether to use the preterite or imperfect, and c) common and thematic vocabulary.
Matthew read in Spanish about 5 ways that Argentinian people deal with moments of crisis.
We looked at Argentinian pesos online. We learned about bartering clubs and saving in foreign currency.
We pointed out verbs that he studied for his recent verb test and how they were used in our article. Matthew led the charge on translating about 8 sentences.

We continued our conversation from last session about Preterite and Imperfect irregulars.
Matthew was then encouraged to find engaging content via a Spanish search engine. He pursued two fantastic ideas. First, he researched how to put the subtitles for his YouTube videos in Spanish. We watched a portion of a golf tutorial in Spanish. We stopped and discussed key vocabulary and interesting sentences.
Then, he searched for interviews with golfers in Spanish. We found an interview of a native Spanish speaker who has just won the Mexican Open. Matthew identified the accent as one of Spanish nationality. He made comments about key words during the interview.
The interview was riddled with the past participle. We used this interview as an opportunity to review this conjugation.
