In this activity, GT used the rules of exponential and logarithms to solve growth and decay equations along with compound interest problems. We also determined the APY number and how it is used in financial transactions.
In this activity, GT worked on both exponential and logarithmic equations. After completing these three activities, GT can can solve any exponential growth or decay problems, along with many financial problems.
He sent me a "cancellation" message via chat at the start of class saying he needed to pick up his brother and wasn't going to be attending class today...even though he was supposed to give his project presentation :( We'll need to make up hours and figure out a gameplan for how to move forward with the work he still needs to complete...
GT and I talked through current events and how they're affecting the economy. We also reviewed his project sides up to this point, how he can improve them, and what's still left to do before his presentation.

He keeps pushing the date back to give his presentation and isn't actually getting the work done...My hope is he finally shows up ready tomorrow.
GT and I reviewed more about his project that's due this week, and we watched some more Shark Tank to familiarize himself more with the structure of his project pitch portion.
GT completed the final assessment in the vocabulary book. It covered all of the words in the entire book. He did well. We then discussed the part of the novel that GT had read for homework. We discussed in detail the recurring theme. We also discussed the movie versus there book. GT has not seen the movie, but he said that he is going to watch it. GT will complete the novel for homework and prepare for his final writing assessment on the book.

TEAMS: Taxonomy / Animals - Reptiles
Today was all about Reptiles, and cold blood. We discussed the characteristics of reptiles in general and then Tuatara, Crocodillia, Squamata (lizards and snakes) and Testudines (turtle and tortoises). We examined a turtle skeleton, and shared what we have each experienced in watching tortoises. I reminded GT, on how the Galapagos tortoise was important in revealing the truth about natural selection to Charles Darwin. We watched the BBC film: ‘In Cold Blood’, where Richard Attenborough describes how these remarkable creatures keep warm in a cold world.
