Religion: Wrote 2 "Things I am grateful for..." in journal. Reviewed Faith Words for Lesson 7. Introduced how to pray the rosary with a print out of rosary beads and the prayers that go along with it.
ILA: Read "I Love the World" poem on pages 250-251 and independently completed multiple choice and written response activities on pages 252-254. iReady for 20 minutes
Math – Jonathan continued to practice identifying and drawing various shapes. Then he labeled the number of sides, vertices, and angles. He was able to identify pentagons, triangles, quadrilaterals, hexagons, and cubes. Next he learned how to read the requirements for sides, vertices, or angles and decided to draw the shape. Then Jonathan participated in a school wide event for black history month.
Religion: Wrote 2 things "I am grateful for..." in journal. Reviewed Faith Words. Completed Lesson 7 Study Guide in preparation for Tuesday's test. Checked answers against teacher's answer key. Uploaded documents to Religion google classroom.
Social Studies: Completed Unit 2 Test and uploaded it to the Social Studies google classroom.
ILA: iReady for 15 minutes. Read pages 250-251 in Reading textbook.
We reviewed the homework and practiced vocabulary related to families. We practiced using the verb tenses with "Ser" and "Tener". We also completed page 5.
Jonathan quickly learned the material on the piano. He was able to play the chords in time and with both hands. We began learning " Hit the Road Jack" on the piano.
Math – Jonathan practiced identifying and drawing various shapes. Then he learned to recognize and count the sides, vertices, and angles in shapes. He was able to identify pentagons, triangles, quadrilaterals, hexagons, and cubes.
Science – Jonathan and I played a game where we had to identify clouds based on their shapes and heights.
We opened with a light dynamic stretch to loosen the muscles, followed by a light dynamic warmup to get the blood flowing. Jonathan and I worked through a series of drills and activities to help him improve on his eye/hand coordination and focus including tennis ball catches, target throws and obstacle catching drills.
Religion: Review flashcards for the Faith Words in this chapter. Read page 89 and complete the activity on page 90 in preparation for the Religion test now scheduled for Tuesday.
ILA: Read page 246 "My Lizard". Guided the instruction to complete the activity on page 247 and page 249 on rhythm and rhyme. For Fundations, completed the Open Syllable Sound of Y Detective worksheet and the Word Sort for oa, ow, oe words. 10 minutes on GetEpic and 10 minutes on iReady.
SS: Reviewed the Study Guide in preparation for tomorrow's test on this unit.

My schedule was interrupted today by Jonathan's speech teacher. My session was supposed to be from 10-12. She worked with him from 11-11:30. Therefore, we did not get to complete as much as we usually do with missing a 1/2 hour. During that time 1/2 hour, I did lesson planning and printed out Jonathan's Social Studies test for tomorrow and his Religion Study Guide for tomorrow or Friday, depending on the amount of time we have together.
We reviewed homework and practiced vocabulary words related to the family. We learned about the verb "tener" and how it is used in a sentence. We read the book "The Family Tree" in Spanish. We played an online game reinforcing vocabulary words.
Math – Jonathan developed an understanding of three-digit numbers through modeling them with base ten blocks. Then he practiced identifying the number in each decimal place. He is acutely aware of how many tens are in each 3 digit number. Next he worked with coins to model numbers into the hundreds.
Science – Jonathan is learning the meanings of new vocabulary words. He is developing an understanding of atmosphere, gravity, and gases.
