Math – Jonathan completed 15 minutes of I ready.
Science – We completed the hands-on activity in the unit review. We picked 2 animals to be the parents of Jonathan’s new pet. Then we identified three traits for each parent and gave them each a number. Next we rolled a die and wrote down which trait our pet inherited.

Religion: Practiced the "Act of Contrition" and the "Hail Mary".

ILA: Capitalization quiz... Completed the final draft of the opinion writing. (Parent will send copies of work to Miss Piccnich) 15 minutes on iReady... 10 minutes on Get Epic...

Religion: Watch 2 YouTube videos showing an interview with the principal of SCS and Father Gregg and Sister Carole. The interviews were about how each of these religious people answered the call to their vocation. Jonathan drew a picture to send to them in order to thank them for all they do for the school and parish community. (I scanned the picture to his teacher.)

ILA: Using the opinion writing graphic organizer, write a rough draft on the topic "Wendell's Valentine's Day Surprise". iReady for 15 minutes.

We reviewed the pronunciation of days of the week, the months of the year, and numbers. We also reviewed the entire alphabet with emphasis on vowel sounds.

We attended the presentation on wildlife.

Jonathan worked on learning to draw complex pictures using a computer website that helps him to follow along. He was able to effectively draw statues from Chile, and then found them on Google Earth.

Math – Jonathan took his Lesson 10 Quiz: Solving Word Problems about Money. Then he completed 15 minutes of I ready
Science – Jonathan completed the visual literacy unit review on parents and offspring. He identified the parent with the correct offspring. Then we reviewed the study guide for the Unit 2 Test.

Math – Jonathan worked on counting dimes and quarters. Then he completed a pretest on Lesson 10 word problems involving money. Next he completed 15 minutes of I ready.
Assignment: For homework complete another Lesson 10 practice quiz.
Science – Jonathan participated in a presentation on Florida native species from the Busch Wildlife Center.

ILA: Tuesday makeup work - Write a paragraph telling why SCS is the best. Include at least 3 reasons why and use a strong opening and closing sentence. Wednesday work - Opinion writing: Brainstorm - The topic is Wendell's Valentine's Day Surprise. What do you think Wendell should give his best friend for Valentine's Day? Use the graphic organizer to write your opinion. Write 3 reasons that support the opinion. Restate the opinion for the closing sentence. View the Fundations video from Tuesday. Go on iReady for 15 minutes.

Religion: Catholic Schools Week theme for today is "Celebrating the Nation". We read about the American Flag. Completed a blank flag by filling in the stars and coloring the flag the appropriate colors. Final activity was for Jonathan to re-design the American Flag to represent him. He was to choose colors for the stripes and choose an object to put in the corner box of the flag. We did not have time to finish this activity. We will finish it tomorrow.

Jonathan's lesson planned today was working with masked layers within a print. He chose to work with a pokeman image motif. Jonathan imported a masked background layer to give his artwork a 3dimensional layout. He will continue to build more layers until his final result.
