Math – Jonathan learned to model and solve word problems about money. The problems advanced to 2-step word problems.
Science – Day 1: We learned that wild grapes have different traits than farmed grapes. Wild grapes are smaller and have more seeds than farmed grapes.
Science – Day 2: We learned that when farmers started planting grapes they took seeds from the biggest and sweetest wild grapes to grow big, sweet grapes.
Today we worked on Teams using the whiteboard to play word games and draw pictures.

Today Jonathan worked with me to connect on Teams and use the white board to communicate and draw. we played a few word games as well. He has the login information and is prepared to work remotely if needed.
Religion: Practice the "Act of Contrition" as a whole prayer and breaking it down into parts. Practiced Faith Words flash cards.
ILA: Went on Get Epic for 15 minutes and iReady for 15 minutes. Recorded Jonathan reading his flip book on Polar Bears to send to his teacher. Reviewed the role of adverbs in a sentence to prepare for upcoming quiz. Read pages 202-203 on Author's Purpose.
Today Jonathan and I reviewed how to connect on Teams. We then played games and drew pictures on the whiteboard while I was right down the hall. We drew some additional pictures and created a story in a PowerPoint file, then sent an email to Ms. Patti after that.

Jonathan is very fast learning how to navigate the computer. He does get distracted with video games at times, and had to be asked several times to pay attention because of it. He learned to email, connect in Teams, and work on Whiteboard.
Math – Jonathan learned to make change with dimes, nickels, and pennies. He was given an amount to spend and several shopping lists for a pet store. He had to find the price of each pet item and subtract from the amount to spend to make change. Then I gave him real coins to make change for several transactions.
Science – We worked on Day 5 of how a spotted cat can have striped kittens. In this lesson we learned to use the vocabulary words behave, resemble, and traits. Then we learned about Orcas (killer whales) and answered questions on what we learned as well as creating a food web of foods they like to eat.
Math – Jonathan worked on Lesson 10 from the workbook named Solve Word Problems Involving Money. In this lesson we worked on finding the value of sets of coins. He used the methods that he knew such as number lines, hundred charts, and base-10 blocks to add the value of several coins. Then he was introduced to a modeling method for adding the value of coins where the coins were grouped according to their values. Next he practiced the new modeling method on several word problems.
Science – We worked on Day 4 of how a spotted cat can have striped kittens. This lesson involved various traits that can be passed down from parents. Next Jonathan identified which traits each kitten got from its mother and from his father.
