Discussed habitat in the wild forests of Nosy Be, NW Madagascar (where I volunteer). Explained how we replicated those conditions (vegetation, temperature, humidity) in a terrarium at the School. Added spagnum moss to keep humidity above 50% in the terrarium.
Introduced the Panther chameleon (Furcifer pardalis), proper handling techniques, and why he changes colors (mood, temperature more so than to look like surroundings). Considered how special Earth is with its diversity of animals, related this to cartoon characters that reminded him of the chameleon including a dragon. We fed four (4!) crickets to the chameleon, observing his long, sticky tongue shoot out several inches.

Jonathan and I began our session logging into Zoom on his computer. Unfortunately, Zoom was not downloaded on his computer. We then tried logging in on his iPad and it stated, "waiting for host to start meeting." Luckily, holy communion was not occurring today and a review of words of temptation and times we may have made poor decisions was discussed on Zoom. Jonathan then completed science activities focusing on why all grapes don't have seeds and plants & animals. He also completed a crossword puzzle, reviewing words learned in science.

I was very sad that Zoom was not working for us. However, I was relieved that his communion did not occur today. I met with Mr. Marcus to double check as well and he stated that we did everything right. I was subbing for Teresa.
Light dynamic stretch, followed by a light dynamic warm-up. Jonathan and I worked on a series of different drills that help him improve on his cardio and body control. We set up control drills that put him in unorthodox and common situations that forced him to adapt and keep his balance.
For this session I showed Jonathan the differences between two snake species. He asked some excellent questions about the two snakes as well as other snake species. One was where the most venomous snake in the world was located.

Substituting for Isiah and Jonathan was very into the science presentation on the snakes.
Math – Jonathan practiced counting different groups of change. Then he practiced naming coins. Next he completed 15 minutes of iReady.
Then he worked on finding the sum of 2 monetary values involving carry over.
Science – Day 3: We learned that by planting the seeds from the best grapes from each batch over and over again farmers create new crops. The new crop of grapes had none of the traits of wild grapes. This method of planting seeds from the best crops applies to corn, wheat, and bananas.
Jonathan attended a school event involving a lesson on snakes where he was able to hold a snake.
