This session got a bit confusing with the kids going in and out trying to find their teachers.
We warmed up with 3 laps around the playground and stretched the body out using a traditional yoga flow. We reviewed our Basic Martial Arts techniques: front kick, Round House kick, punches and blocks. We put the techniques into a self-defense drill and practiced it. Jonathan was a cooperative today and we had disciplined fun today.
Math – Jonathan was introduced to counting coins. He is proficient in counting 10 pennies, nickels, dimes, and quarters. Next he identified each coin value and what is printed on each side. Jonathan practiced making change with real coins.
Science – We worked on Day 4 of how a spotted cat can have striped kittens. This lesson involved various traits that can be passed down from parents. Next Jonathan identified which traits each kitten got from its mother and from his father.
Light dynamic warm-up to get the blood flowing and loosen muscles. Transition into a dynamic stretch before start of activities... We worked on a series of specific activities to improve Jonathan’s eye-hand coordination and decision-making skills.
We opened up with a light dynamic stretch followed by a dynamic warmup. Jonathan and my first day served as an introduction. I put him through a series of tests and drills to assess where he is at physically and mentally.
Math – We learned to find the value of sets of coins. Next we learned how to combine every two nickels to count by tens. Then we practiced finding the value of coins in word problems. This was no problem for Jonathan.
Science – We began to work on Week 3 Day 1 and Day 2 on how spotted cats have striped kittens. We learned the meaning of the words offspring and resemble.

Lesson Comments
Jonathan has been bringing in his iPad and begins playing games on it as soon as he walks into school at 9:00. Also, as I transition from one subject to another, he'll pick it up and start playing with it. Is it ok for me to let him know that it needs to stay in his backpack until our break time at 10:00 and goes back in the backpack after the break? I ask him to put it away but he continues playing on it. This takes away from the time I have with him for instruction.
Today I showed Jonathan how to login to Teams and to share the whiteboard with me during our class. We did maze games and hangman on the whiteboard after logging in.

Lesson Comments
Jonathan was cooperative and is very intelligent. He is already efficient with a computer but had not yet been introduced to "how to log in to Teams" on his own, which we did today. He is quick to grasp concepts but can get absorbed into games at times.
