Math – Jonathan continued to work on numeration of numbers in the hundreds. He wrote each number in standard form, expanded form, and word form. Then he took a quiz from last week and did very well. He has almost completed last week’s work.

4 Panel Project
Lesson Outline
Today we started the four panel project.

Jonathan was interested in painting birds so we chose four quality reference photos of birds. We talked about quality reference photos and photos that are hard to work from.

Jonathan was great with the sketching out the birds and had a genuine interest in sketching them himself and adding detail.

We finished two outline drawings and started the third. We talked about composition and what would make the four birds flow together and made some style choices based on his creative direction such as having the
backgrounds merge togther by over lapping branches and leaves.

Next class we plan to finish our under drawings and work on painting technique. As well as his first shading lesson as a warm up.

Jonathan has a genuine interest in art. He has been using a drawing app to learn how to draw and it has helped him to understand how to use a reference photo to sketch a drawing out.

He has good control of the pencil and is very foucsed and stays on task. Self motivated to chose his subject and get started.

Our session got cut short by his Japanese class so we ended up only working together for 30 minutes.

Going to catch him up to Ben and Jayne this week with the shading project.

Jonathan completed his religion assignment assigned by his teacher in New Jersey. Jonathan read the section in his textbook, "How is the Risen Jesus Present in his Church?" Jonathan designed an icon for Easter using the colors and appropriate symbols. Jonathan decorated an egg and learned we decorate Eggs for easter because it symbolizes new life.

Jonathan completed the icon for Tiridum.

Jonathan completed fifteen minutes on IReady which was focusing on reading comprehension. Jonathan read an IReady story in the IReady textbook and identified the beginning, middle, and end of the story. Jonathan used details from the story to answer the short response. Jonathan wrote his spelling words twice in his journal. Jonathan completed his grammar activity in his grammar book. He focused on titles and verb tenses. Jonathan read an independent book on epic books.
