Jonathan read the textbook assignment about the process of a confessional. He created a realistic comic detailing the steps to a confessional in Church.
Jonathan completed his assignments assigned by his teacher in New Jersey. He used his setting and character brainstorming to ask the question, "what is my story going to be about?" Jonathan brainstormed what was going to happen in the beginning, middle, and end of his story to prepare for the brainstorm page tomorrow. Jonathan reviewed the definition of a verb and how a verb changes in the past, future, and present. He completed his grammar assignment on verbs in his grammar book.
Math – Jonathan learned that there are several ways to partition shapes into halves, thirds, and fourths. Then he learned to recognize that equal shares of identical wholes need not have the same shape.
Science – Jonathan learned how the atmosphere protects us. Then we learned that without the atmosphere we would not have any weather. He remembered that the atmosphere’s ozone layer protects us from the Sun’s ultraviolet rays.
We reviewed the use of the verb "Ser" and the right conjugation with personal pronouns. We learned vocabulary related to friendship and completed a cut-and-paste activity.
For today's session Johnathan and I moved one of the chickens from the incubator to the brooding tank. We discussed how bird chicks have developed camouflaged feathers to help protect them from predators, such as the golden plover chick looking like moss.
Jonathan reviewed the regions of The United States. Jonathan watched a video on YouTube about the South West Region. He listed traits about this region he saw in the video in his notebook. Jonathan read about the South West Region in an article and highlighted the traits with a highlighter. He explained the South West Region to prepare for his poster tomorrow.
Jonathan read in his religion textbook about mistakes and sins. Jonathan completed the assignment in the textbook. He drew an example of a sin, an example of a mistake, and an action treating God well. This assignment was turned in on google classroom to his teacher in New Jersey.
Jonathan completed the assignment from his teacher in New Jersey. Jonathan watched a video on realistic fiction. Jonathan explained and brainstormed what traits a realistic fiction story contains. Jonathan began to brainstorm his realistic fiction story. He created a setting in a sink hole and created main characters. He described the main characters' physical and emotional traits. Jonathan focused on keeping the story realistic.
Math – Jonathan learned the meaning of partitions or equal parts. He learned how to divide shapes into equal partitions. Then he demonstrated his understanding of the concept by dividing several shapes on his own.
Science – Jonathan watched a Brainpop Jr. video on the Earth. He learned about Earth’s atmosphere, biosphere, and mantle.
Jonathan is working on various film concepts and sound effect development while creating worlds/realms and characters in Mind Craft. He is shooting pictures of scenes he has created in sequence to develop storylines.
