Practiced German numbers using own address, telephone number and age to ask each other questions. German culture when answering telephone - say name. Discussed in English authentic German video we were going to watch. Gave key words and names. Watched once and discussed 3 things Ben remembered from it. Rewatched sections asking Ben to listen for certain information only - number for class, and what drinks the students were ordering.

Reviewed vocabulary for Land, Adresse, Stadt, cultural differences in how Germans write their addresses. Learned new numbers 20-30, practiced speaking in German doing addition and subtraction with the numbers. Watched counting video as well to refresh memory.
Reviewed hmwk from last day - Wie geht's, Gesten u Ben's drawing from his presentation. Watched video and practiced counting to 20 and pronunciation tips. Started pg 16 in the textbook with an authentic contact list "die Kontaktliste" to go over the cultural differences with addresses and numbers while practicing to use them.

Reviewed vocabulary using 2 Blooket games. Then watched Octoberfest video on the historical significance of the 16 day celebration and its origins and what it means for Germans today. Then reviewed numbers and our birthdays and sang Happy Birthday song in German.

Lesson Outline
Discussed the history of how Germany became two Germanys - East and West - after WWII and then its reunification and impact on the Germans. Watched a video documenting the events and listening to people's reactions and feelings about it. Filled out a timeline of events leading up to October 3, 1990 and also discussed the 33 years since the reunification.
Watched video of young German teenagers talking about where they are from. Matching and fill in the blank exercises using new and known vocabulary words. Then we practiced new vocabulary asking each other where we are from. new verb - sein to be. kommen to come
