Bella did fairly well with recall and used critical thinking skills in understanding the chemistry and Histology involved leading to the rationale for each step of a chemical exfoliation procedure.
She was excellent in her performing the chemical exfoliation, neutralization, and hydration skills

Textbook review and topic review resulted in semester lessons planned in Histology and chemistry with practical applications in a variety of facial skills

We reviewed the anatomy of the nail and the steps of the gel acrylic nail polish manicure.
We opened all the new products and reviewed their role in the steps of the procedure.
Bella did a practical application of a gel acrylic nail polish manicure.
This gel manicure process is not as easy as it seems. Bella did well fighting her perfectionism frustrations and consistently improved through each next step.

Bella was very attentive in learning the structure and function of human nails. The nail diseases and disorders with accompanying pictures were not her favorite topic.

We discussed the indications for applying acrylic gel nail polish and how they could be helpful in motivating Bella to change her nail biting habits.
We discussed the contraindications of nail-biting and applying gel polish on unhealthy nailbeds, the negative effects on the surface layers of the nailbed if acrylic polish is peeled off etc.
We discussed the equipment necessary and the basic procedure for applying acrylic gel nail polish.
We reviewed several types of polish and we selected and ordered the colors for our gel nail classes expected to begin next week.

Using the Ph testing pencil we determined the acidity and alkalinity of each liquid chemical used in a mild acid facial peel procedure.

We had a little extra time in between the two planned procedures today so we caught up on the chemical lightening on the hair swatches we had planned to do last week, but missed due to sick days.
Bella could see the difference between lightning effects on virgin hair (Andrews swatches reserved from his haircut) and the swatches that were previously colored (Bellas swatches reserved from her haircut) with artificial hair color pigments.
We discussed the skin of the scalp and the causes of dandruff flakes.
We discussed several hair cleansing products and how to incorporate a dandruff treatment into Bella's regular grooming routine.
We performed a scalp treatment on Bella to eliminate the fungal issues that cause dandruff.

Bella did well on her review anatomy and physiology of the eyelash hair and skin.
She was able to anticipate the next steps and understood the differences between a variety of tools, chemicals and methods of eyelash extension applications.
Bella did a very good job on her first eyelash installation
