MAP testing

Kellan took his spelling test. He read Dog Man and discussed it.

Kellan and I went outside and we played Bocce Ball with another student and teacher.
We were able to play 5 rounds before the end of the period.

Kellan read about types of plant roots: aerial roots, fibrous roots, prop roots and tap roots. He observed the images of the types of roots. He drew illustrations and labeled the types of roots.

Kellan read and discussed an article about the Islands of Oceania. He learned about the many islands and their inhabitants. He discovered that there are thousands of islands which are generally put into three groups- Melanesia, Micronesia, and Polynesia. He located these islands on the map.

Kellan read about plant parts: roots and stems. He analyzed the diagram of plant stem xylem and phloem in a woody stem and a soft stem.

Kellan completed the mathematics portion of the MAP Growth testing.

I had Kellan read aloud to me. Then I tested his comprehension through discussion questions about the text.
