Kellan began with a multiplication facts check, completed equations with all operations by finding the values of variables, and was asked to solve additional equations for homework. Then, we reviewed last night's homework on how to model subtraction of fractions before Kellan completed the lesson's problem-solving and quick assessment questions.

Kellan read about the muscular system and watched a video about the muscular system. He drew a diagram of the human muscular system. He finished drawing his skeletal system diagram.

Before reading the story, I asked Kellan to preview the text by looking at the title, illustrations, and any other features of the text. This helped him to activate his prior knowledge and make predictions about the text.

I then had Kellan read the story aloud. As he was reading, I asked him to stop and think about what he was reading and make predictions about what would happen next.

Kellan reviewed the main concepts and important people of the Reformation in preparation for his test on Thursday. He also reviewed his states and capitals, and their location on the map.
