Kellan updated his checklist to reflect the work that he completed. Kellan was given a sheet of paper and instructed to make a list of all Heroic characters and villains.
This morning, Kellan and I reviewed and corrected last night's homework on finding the missing value in basic equations with all operations, which he was also assigned again for tonight. Then, Kellan worked on review problems on using fraction strips to recognize equivalent fractions with fourths and eighths as denominators. Finally, Kellan continued to work on composing and decomposing fractions with common denominators.
Kellan read an article about Space Exploration, Telescopes and Space Probes. He created illustrations for key terms from the article demonstrating his knowledge and understanding of the terms. He wrote a summary for each paragraph in the article.
Kellan completed his last States' and Capitals' caricature. He placed flags on the last 5 states on his interactive map. He completed a crossword puzzle review for the Reformation unit. He answered in writing comprehension questions pertaining to a map of Europe.
To begin, Kellan answered daily review questions on using fact families with multiplication and division equations and finding the missing value in a division equation. Then, we reviewed proper fractions, improper fractions, and mixed numbers with models drawn on the whiteboard. Finally, Kellan worked on decomposing fractions or mixed numbers in two different ways.
Kellan read about stars and the sun on page 194-5. He read aloud then silently in his head. He summarized the paragraphs in his own words. He interpreted a diagram of the different sizes of stars and drew an illustrated diagram of a small, medium, large and giant star.
Kellan took his spelling test on last week's words. We looked through all his Dog Man books and ordered four books he doesn't have in his collection. He worked on the cootie catcher for literary elements.
