Kellan watched a video about the solar eclipse and we discussed the solar eclipse that will occur today. He read about the outer planets: Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus and Neptune. He took illustrated notes on the outer planets.
Kellan began with the daily review questions on interpreting and solving a division word problem and determining the area of an irregular shape. Then, Kellan completed facts from last night's facts check homework. Our lesson focused on how to add fractions with common denominators using fractions strips or area models. Kellan and I worked on the lesson's examples together and completed the practice problems.
Kellan continued his study of the Reformation by studying the impact of Queen Mary and her sister Queen Elizabeth. He read and discussed his vocabulary words. He located Germany on the map and discovered the importance this country had on the Reformation.
This morning, Kellan and I continued to work on the concept of area and perimeter which correlated with today's daily review question. Kellan found the measurements of each with numerous differently sized rectangles. Then, he completed missed facts from the 0 - 12 multiplication facts check assigned for homework and finished with input/output tables with basic facts using all operations.
