Kellan and I updated his checklist, we went over creating an introduction paragraph, and Kellan was given time to continue working on another page of his book.
Kellan worked on daily review problems on naming quadrilaterals and solving a subtraction word problem. Then, we expanded upon naming quadrilaterals to include recognizing their sides, vertices, and angles. Kellan and I also worked on finding congruent shapes, drawing lines of symmetry, and the concept of parallel lines with Kellan finding pairs of parallel lines in everyday objects.
Kellan read about fossil fuels. He drew an illustrated definition of fossil fuels. He watched a video demonstrating how fossil fuels are created. He worked on his reading comprehension skills.
Reformation Map Skills Vocabulary States and Capitals
Lesson Outline
Kellan began to learn about the Reformation and what exactly the controversary was all about. It was a time when people thought the Catholic church was too powerful, and they wanted change. He studied the trial of Galileo, and learned how he got into trouble because of his views on the Bible. He located all the states and capitals he has learned so far this year, and placed a flag on his USA map of where each state and capital is found on this map.

Lesson Outline
Kellan took his test on the States and Capitals of the Mountain States. He reviewed and discussed his vocabulary words and their definitions pertaining to the Reformation.
This morning, Kellan completed review problems on multiplying by multiples of 10 and rounding to the nearest 10. Then, we used the flashcards to practice the multiplication facts 5, 6, and 7. Our class ended early for the Spring Celebration.
