Kellan and I did a review of color theory for his upcoming quiz.
Kellan was given his color theory project and instructed to color his third section using only complimentary colors.
Kellan viewed a video on the lab "Examining Elements." He created a table of elements tested for the following characteristics: color, physical state, reflectivity, texture, conductivity, and malleability. He recorded his data.
Kellan worked on his figure drawing project for the duration of class. For his second class, he worked on his sub work in science. He read an article and answered the attached questions about matter.
Kellan and I looked over last night's homework on multiplying by 1-digit numbers which completes the lesson's independent practice problems and the unit. Then, Kellan took a correlating quiz on multiplying 2-, 3-, and 4-digit numbers by single digits. He rewrote five problems from the whiteboard, carefully copying each number and using the standard algorithm to find the products. For each of the questions, Kellan was asked to create a word problem to model the factors. He needed guidance with the first 4 but did great independently creating the final word problem. Kellan earned 100% on this quiz.
Kellan and I spent the period getting to know each other and doing some basic fitness.
Kellan started out by jogging some warmup laps followed by some dumbbell workouts.
We finished by doing some basic stretches.
This morning, we focused on the 3s facts with a quick review using the flashcards before Kellan took a timed 3s fact check. Then, Kellan accurately copied and completed the three daily review problems from the whiteboard on adding multi-digit numbers, reading and writing number words, and rounding. Finally, he continued working on multiplying 3- and 4-digit numbers by single digits, using a multiplication facts chart when needed. Kellan was asked to complete the remaining problems for homework.
