Kellan read about nonmetal solids and metals. He viewed particle models of each, identifying that the atoms in metals are closer together than nonmetal solids. He created notecards for metals and nonmetal solids with their properties: nonmetal solids - brittle and breakable, don't bend, dull (not shiny), don't conduct electricity; metals - bendable, shiny, conducts electricity.
Christianity Map Skills Vocabulary States and their Capitals
Lesson Outline
Kellan read and discussed Vatican City and Michelangelo's Pieta. He worked on drawing several of the Southern states and their capitals. He located Italy on the map.
Kellan was given a few minutes to review study material for his quiz. Kellan was given his quiz and passed with a 100%. Kellan was the rest of the class to work on another section of his color theory project.
Kellan began with review problems that he copied and completed from the whiteboard on rounding, 2-digit by 1-digit multiplication, multi-digit subtraction, estimating before adding, and using mental math to add. Then, the flashcards were used to review the 2, 3, and 5 facts with the cards shown in random order for an added challenge. Kellan finished with a timed 3s fact check, answering 18 out of 20 correctly.
Kellan completed the follow-up questions from the lab "Examining Elements." He read about the properties of metals and nonmetals. He read about nonmetal gases. He viewed a diagram showing individual atoms and molecules. We discussed.
