Penny read a story about springtime and discussed how spring is a season and ways to tell spring from fall, winter, and summer. Penny painted some eggs and also learned what a "dozen" means.
Rhyming Words – Using the “I Can Rhyme” rhyming wheels, Penny was able to identify words that rhymed. After that she played a rhyming game on the Internet. https://pbskids.org/sesame/games/grovers-rhyme-time
Sight Words – I introduced the word “Like” and she read a book titled, “Animals”. This word was added to her word wheel.
Upper and Lower Case Letters Matching -- Using ABCya.com Penny, matched the upper and lower case.
Create outlines for the 4 panel project.
Plan colors and compositions of the four panels.
Penny decided to change her project topic to Frozen since shes already working on a Wonderwoman project with Mr. Marcus. So we used the computer to find new reference images and printed them out.
We planned out a story from Frozen and chose images to fit the story. Next class we'll begin painting the first image and move on to our first shading exercise.

Creating a new project with Penny since I saw her project with Mr. Marcus. We did splatter paint last week because we had Avery with us so hopefully this week, we can make some progress with her actual project.
Penny was shown the progress of her Wonder Woman painting. I informed her that we would be working on the blue highlights of the hair, along with the yellow and red areas of the outfit. I painted out the areas that I wanted her to complete and she painted the areas with the respective colors.
I reread the book titled, “If You Give a Mouse a Cookie”. Penny completed sequencing the picture cards to mirror the story. She then illustrated and completed her own sentence with something else the mouse could have done in the book.
Penny read the words on her word ring and the book,” We Can”.
Penny made addition flash cards out of little bunnies and glued them to craft sticks and put them in some Easter grass in a container. We quizzed each other with the flash cards and other people. Penny practiced writing numbers and making addition sentences and reading the problems to other people, i.e. "Three plus four equals seven."

Penny did an excellent job learning to "read" the math addition sentences! She seemed to really like making the bunny flashcards.
Created abstract paintings using different types of brushes and splatter them on the canvas. Then fold the paper in half and see the patterns and how they are symmetrical now. Began to learn how to mix primary colors by working with blue and red to make dark purple.

We didn't work on Penny's four panel project because we had Avery join us. But Penny was interested in the splatter paint from last class so we showed Avery how to do it and talked about colors and how they mix.
