Sight Words - Penny worked on the words like, at, so, a, he, and see. She was given a picture with words (like color by number but instead it was color by word. She would roll the die and depending on the number, she had to find the word and color it in.
Print – Penny wrote her first and last name.

Penny teamed up with another student her same age and the two engaged in an academic activity identifying and counting numbers while playing a 'Pop the Pig' game. Both took turns and enjoyed participating in the game. We then went outside and took turns using some gross motor equipment including a twisting spinner on which the girls could sit and spin themselves. Penny followed directives that involved counting skills and the use of directional cues, such as hopping on one foot and then the other, walking backwards, and changing directions. We identified the directions needed to navigate back to our classroom, washed up and got ready for lunch at noon.

Penny played a Connect 4 four game with dice. Penny added the two dice and found the number on the grid and placed tiles until she achieved four-in-a-row. Penny practiced rote counting to 100. Penny played Mathseeds reinforcing addition.

Letter identification/ Letter Recognition – We played a game called ”Pop for Letters”. Penny and I took turns taking a popcorn piece out of the popcorn bowl, saying the letter and the letter sound.
Letter Formation – Penny practiced writing her first and last name.

Penny created a number line and practiced writing numbers on the number line. We also looked at a ruler and measured different items while recognizing the numbers.

Letter identification/ Letter Recognition/Sight Words – Using plastic letters, she arranged the letters in the order of the alphabet. Then using play-doh, she wrote many of her sight words.

Penny practiced writing numbers 1-30 and recognizing the numbers. Penny played interactive math games reinforcing different ways that the numbers look and providing a word for each number.

Penny read all the words on her word ring sounding out the ones she could when needed.

I worked with Penny to print out and assemble her picture of Wonder Woman. I had Penny lay transfer paper over her canvas, place her image on top, attach the parts with tape to the canvas, and we used ball-point pens to trace the image. Once we finished, Penny removed the papers to reveal the transferred image.

Penny reviewed the words on her word ring and was introduced to the words the and or .She reread a books titled, ”On the Farm” and “Can I See?”. Both books reinforced the words the, on, can, see, I, we, and a.
