School photos day 3-
Today is picture day for the Molina and Wainwright students. Will took all the photos, and I concentrated on making the subject comfortable. Will faced the challenges that are inevitable in a live (and hot) photo shoot, and we addressed them as a team. He did very well and succeeded in getting some very nice photos. We examined the photos, on the computer to make sure we had the correct exposure and focus, before moving from student to student. I also took Will’s school photo. Will was tasked with taking photos of the entire student body and faculty in a group photo.

School photo review -
We examined the photos we took this week. We discussed how we could make sure Will was comfortable while taking the photos, before we have a student in the hot seat. We decided to set up before his math class (8 am Tuesday morning). We also discussed how some students required more attention, or patience, in order to get a suitable shot. Will was concerned that some students did not get a ‘perfect’ photo, due to an aversion to the flash, or a unwillingness to smile. We examined the photos and I assured Will, he got wonderful photos. We discussed how not everyone needs to have the same expression in their school photo, just as no two students act the same during any other event.

Will and I reviewed what is important to keep in mind when attempting to get a portrait photograph: backdrop, lighting, and staging. We talked about how we will proceed next week, in order to be ready for school photos. Will walked around the school to photograph students in ‘everyday’ activities including a space project, slide races, and a Spanish alphabet.
