We investigated Ohm’s law which is an equation that describes the relationship between voltage (electric force), current (electron flow), and resistance (the resistance of an object to passing electric current). Where V is voltage, measured in volts (V), I is current, measured in amperes (A), and R is electrical resistance, measured in ohms (Ω). Next we designed a booklet to show how current runs through an electric circuit.
Assignment: We completed a booklet on current electricity and added it to our science notebook.
Mercer began class with a 5-lap warmup run around the perimeter of the playground. Next, he participated in individual badminton hitting practice. Mercer was to able to achieve 9 consecutive hits without the shuttlecock/birdie hitting the ground, surpassing his previous high-score of 6 continuous hits.
Mercer was given his clay sculpture and instructed to recoat all areas of his Pikachu character. Once all areas were complete, we worked together to create the mouth for the character to finish his figure.
Mercer was given his clay sculpture and instructed to paint the entire character yellow. Mercer applied three coats of paint and in between each coat, he used a heat gun to dry the sculpture. I had Mercer check and make sure that he did not miss any areas and then he moved on to adding black and red accents to his character.
Reading Comprehension Grammar Literature Spelling SSAT Prep Wordly Wise
Lesson Outline
He took a 40 minute SSAT timed test. He worked diligently and steadfastly for the entire time. We reviewed his spelling words and homework for this week.
This afternoon, our focus concentrated on imagery and descriptive language as a tool to impact listening and viewing audiences. We spoke about the art festival this weekend in Palm Beach Gardens at which some students work was displayed. Mercer commented on some of the pictures shown to him and was asked to use descriptive language when discussing the work he created. He was prompted to express himself in more elaborate responses and added details to his succinct answers to make his responses more int complex and interesting. Mercer included the vibrant colors he used in his piece (a skull with flowers and bees coming out of it - for a Garden theme). He attempted to explain the effect he wished to create in efforts to make his words more impactful and powerful by appealing to the audience's senses.

I was asked to sub for Mercer this afternoon, Tuesday, 2-22-22, from 1:30 - 2:00 during the time I would have taught Lucas.
Mercer began class with a cardiovascular warmup. Next, he participated in individual badminton hitting practice. His goal was to achieve 5 consecutive hits without the shuttlecock/birdie hitting the ground. Mercer surpassed his goal with 6 continuous hits.
