King Solomon
Lesson Outline

Today's lesson focused on King Solomen. Mercer reviewed material that provided evidence of Solomon's reign. He read material that detailed scholars claim to have discovered artifacts that corroborate the biblical account of his reign in the early 10th century BCE; others claim that the archaeological record strongly suggests that the fortified cities and even the Temple of Jerusalem actually emerged more than a century later. Mercer spent the remainder of the class looking at fun world geography facts.

He completed a Wordly Wise activity, using these vocabulary words in context. He color coded a chart for the different figurative languages we are studying this week and glued it into his English notebook for future reference. We put up posters for the definitions of a simile and a metaphor. We reviewed and answered questions over Chapter 4 of his literature book.
