Bella was given time to write a thank you letter in Spanish to be given to the gentleman that presented to us yesterday in Miami.
We first drafted an outline in English.
Then we discussed some of the components that Bella already knew in Spanish. I helped her to express some of the more complicated ideas and taught that information to her.
We discussed the elements of a high level descriptive essay. Then Bella began writing an essay describing her trip to Miami. She introduced the essay with a quote about the importance of travel and then transitioned into her clearly stated thesis. She decided on the details she wanted to expand upon for her supporting paragraphs. She will complete and edit the essay tomorrow.
Bella completed an essay she had begun last week. Upon completion, she edited the essay for grammatical mistakes, for off-topic information, and specific diction usage.
2-3 Standard Form – We learned to write and graph linear equations in standard form. We discovered that the standard form of a linear equation is helpful for identifying the x- and y-intercepts. These are used to graph the line and aid in understanding the constraints within a real-world context.
Assignment: For homework complete assigned problems.
