Test
Lesson Outline
Bella took her train and restaurant test.

First, we studied for the test and she was given examples of the types of problems that could appear on the test.

Second, she reviewed on her own from her notes.

Third, Bella took the test. She frequently would make guesses out loud. Her guesses were almost always correct but she did not always write down answers pertaining to those good guesses. I encouraged her later to be confident and follow her gut in this class.

Lastly, we reviewed her test together. Bella did an excellent job on her test. My one note would be that it was not the new information from this year that seemed to give her trouble. It was content from Spanish 1 and 2 that seemed to require the most thought. She should review that content.

Topic 2 Linear Equations
Lesson Outline
Point-Slope Form – We learned to write and graph linear equations in point-slope form. We analyzed different forms of a line to interpret the slope and y-intercept of a linear model in the context of data. We learned how to use the point-slope form of a linear equation to write the equation of a line using the slope and any point on the line.

Texas, California & Utah
Lesson Outline
Today we discussed significant events in three western states as the concept of "Manifest Destiny" swept through the U.S. in the 1820s - 1850s. We began with TEXAS - the Battle of the Alamo in 1836. We discussed what happened & why is it significant in US History. That same year, the Battle of San Jacinto saw Texas separate from Mexico and become its own republic until it became a state in 1845 - entering the Union as slave state. CALIFORNIA
won independence from Mexico during the Bear Flag Revolt in 1846. This was followed by the 1849 CA gold rush with CA becoming a state in 1859. CA entered the Union as a free state. We began to discuss the history and settlement of UTAH and we will continue to discuss UT on Monday.

Bella and I both caught the bridge on the way to the campus and started class about 15 minutes late =(
Other than that, Bella did a great job hopping back into foil skills application.
Bella excelled in thinking through every situation I presented her such as "Is it possible to ....." "Is this scenario a chemical change or physical change...." "Why is it ...." "How could you approach....." scenarios.
