Bella began outlining her thoughts for the written speech to be given for her mother. We brainstormed specific diction, quotes, and ideas that she wants to communicate in the speech.
2-1 Slope-Intercept Form – We reviewed the slope-intercept form of the line to sketch each line on a graph. First we labeled the steps to do this in our math notebook. Step 1 is to identify the y-intercept in the equation y = mx + b and plot (0, b). Step 2 is to plot the slope m as (vertical change)/ (horizontal change) the second point. Step 3 is to draw a line through the points.
Assignment: Complete the assigned problems for homework.
2-1 Slope-Intercept Form – We completed the homework assignments where we calculated the slope from 2 points.
Assignment: Complete the assigned problems for homework. Find the equation of the line, given a point and the y-intercept.
Despite multiple attempts to reach Bella for our first period class this morning, she never came online for our remote class. Sam told me during our 2nd period class that Bella was still sleeping.
I taught Bella the notation of music rhythms and how they work mathematically. She tapped given rhythm exercises on displayed YouTube practice videos, and directed my input of an 8-measure rhythm sequence on Musescore. She seems to have grasped the information.
Bella was online today. She read, analyzed, and discussed two chapters of A Thousand Splendid Suns. We then met her with her father and he requested help writing a biography of Bella's mom to be used as an introduction for a scholarship. Bella and I discussed how we would begin researching information in order to begin a first draft.
