Midterm Elections
Lesson Outline
Today Bella learned about the upcoming midterm elections and why they're so important for our government. The midterm elections in the U.S. are one month away and we looked at what's at stake for American politics. We also looked at what is meant by an "October surprise" and how that could influence how Americans vote on November 8th. We looked back at some U.S. presidential elections from the 1970s to present day to view some examples of this "September/October Surprise" in our election process.

Lesson Comments
Bella's favorite part of Italian culture might be food. she is always animated and refers to her dad. it was a pleasure to chat w/ both of them together today for a bit to discuss food. Bella did share w/ me that ALL of her friends and her entire community in NY were Italians. I think the culture/food lessons give her a "taste" of home and make her happy.
