Macbeth
Lesson Outline
For our introductory lesson on Shakespeare's "Macbeth" I discussed Aristotle's classic definitions of : tragedy, , hamartia, peripeteia, and catharsis. I further explored the two types of tragedy-the tragedy of character and the tragedy of fate. Last,I defined the literary device "pathetic fallacy". We read Act I scene I to illustrate an example of the "pathetic fallacy" and discussed the significance of the famous passage "fair is foul and foul is fair."

2.2
Lesson Outline
Today we worked on deriving formulas for an arithmetic or geometric sequence. We used given data to first determine if there was a common difference (arithmetic) or common ratio (geometric). Then we used the formulas in general to solve for the missing variables. Then we could write the rule. These problems take some practice for fluency.

Sequences
Lesson Outline
Today Joshua and I worked in 2.1 on Arithmetic and Geometric sequences. We are familiar with writing out rules/formulas given the first term in the sequence. Today, we discussed how to write the rules using the third, or randomly 5th term in the sequence. We pulled problems from AP Classroom to do. They were much easier than we both expected.
