Topic 5 Solve Problems Using Equations and Inequalities
Lesson Outline
We reviewed the meaning of the following vocabulary terms: inverse relationship, like terms, inequality, and properties of equality. Then we practiced combining like terms and using the properties of equality in algebraic expressions.
Aiden worked on solving algebraic equations. This included all 4 operations and several problems requiring a 2-step process to solve for the variable. Aiden was able to determine each inverse operation and when to use the reciprocal to isolate the variable. Aiden was reminded about inverse operations to solve these equations. He was able to complete about half of the equations and a little of the riddle so he will finish it next week when we meet again.
